More fonts than ever

Arial, Times, Verdana, Courier or Tahoma. Those were your choices for web safe fonts that would accurately render across browsers and operating systems. Boy, have times changed!

Thankfully, as demand grew, browsers began to add the ability to render non-system fonts that were hosted online. In 2010, Google released it’s own open source set of fonts (with just 19 typefaces) and by 2012, Google Fonts had grown to 500+ font families. But with great font selection comes great responsibility! The basic of good design still apply: keep it simple, keep it readable. And experiment!
