Don’t forget desktop UX

The recent update to Google’s algorithms adds user experience (UX) on mobile devices as a requirement for search ranking. However, that doesn’t mean you can ignore  UX on desktop computers.

The experience of your users on every device should be a driving factor in site architecture and design regardless of Google’s current ranking signals. Once you have attracted a user to your site, you want to keep him/her there, learning about your business and hopefully converting to a lead. A poor user experience however, can cause a visitor to bounce from your site too quickly to ever get to know you. And while Google might not use desktop UX as a direct ranking signal, providing a good user experience will keep you ahead of the curve no matter what.

Do you know someone who should see this?
